The Changing Face Of Mens Fashion In Wales

By Michael Jones

Williams and Evans is an old, established menswear store in South Wales. Or so I thought. Expecting to find a store full of clothes that my father would have worn, I was definitely surprised when I stepped inside the building. Inside the clean, beautifully laid out shop were rack upon rack of the most stylish, modern clothes that I have had the pleasure of trying on in some time. The very latest colours and styles, beautifully laid out in a well lit, easy to browse layout

The shop has been in family ownership since it was founded in 1900. The clothes are more that two centuries apart from their origins. Catering predominantly for successful men who are confident, yet have made or are starting to make their niche in life. I guess that if you or your man is between about 35 and 65 then this store will appeal to you. Fashion conscious men know style when they see it and this shop oozes style from every pore

Clothing influences that permeate the shop are mainly European. Top German, Italian, French and English brands that evoke style, class and being in the moment. Brands like Bruno St Hilaire, Seidensticker and Gurteen evoke the classic looks of the successful European man. Traditional classic staples from HJ Hall (they make the most wonderful socks) and Jockey are also available at reasonable prices in great availability of sizes. Add to this the best of the Brook Taverner range and you have a sure recipe for success

An online offering is nowadays to be expected and Williams and Evans certainly does not disappoint in this respect As you would expect, service levels are as good online as in the store and that really is saying something. The website can be accessed through the links at the bottom of this article. Service has always been at the centre of the business ethos of Williams and Evans. Staff are very knowledgeable, courteous and yet unobtrusive, allowing people to browse at their leisure yet attentive and available when the need arises

The clothes range from casual to formal, from outerwear to underwear, everything that a style conscious man could ever need to clothe himself. Sometimes the nicest things really do come in the smallest of packages. If you are looking for somewhere that truly does understand the very special needs of the fashion conscious man, if you are in the Bridgend, South Wales area, you really do need to check them out. You will find a gem of a clothes store, reasonably priced for the quality of clothing that they supply and excellence in service that I thought had disappeared from this country long ago - 30544
