Beach Wedding Favors & Golf Wedding Favors

By Aaron Hu

Well, you decided to get married away from home. Do both of you have family and friends scattered all over the place? That might not be a bad idea then. After all, if you are going to make them fly, you should let them fly to someplace fun. Besides, you can stay after the wedding and honeymoon. When you both picked Hilton Head you picked it for different reasons. He was thinking of a nice little golf wedding with little golf wedding favors while you were thinking of a beach wedding with little beach wedding favors. Oh my, the fur is going to fly on this!

That is not the first time this has happened and certainly won't be the last as travel weddings become increasingly popular. In reality, both were very fair assumptions. Golf has become a huge sport for men and women. Beach weddings were really the kick off for the whole travel wedding craze. Since so many great golf destinations are on the beach this was just bound to happen. Which one should you do? Is it going to come down to "Rock, Paper, Scissors?"

Golf weddings are pretty straight forward. Assuming you want to get married on the grounds your in good shape. For one, golf courses frequently host large outside events of all sizes and have tents if needed as well. You are also not going to need to worry about the conditions of the greenery, golf courses are known for keeping them immaculate. So you have your chairs, your tent, and the grass is cut. Depending on where you are they might be able to help you out with more but if not there are always rental companies that rent about anything. Again, because they are used to hosting events you should be able to find a suitable room. Hopefully they can prepare the food for you as well (most big ones can) as well as offer servers and do the clean up. Since it was a golf wedding, work to keep that theme going into the reception and keep it fun.

Beach weddings are so romantic and they give you so many options to make them your own. Beach weddings are like snowflakes, there are no two alike. It is really a matter of taste and imagination. If the wedding is on a public beach and you are not from the area you are almost certainly need the help of a local wedding planner, preferable one that does a lot of beach weddings because of all the little nuances involved. The planner will know the best places and the local ordinances you will need to be concerned about, for example how late you can go and can you have a bon fire.

A few things will apply to all beach weddings. For the bride, forget about the train. With all that sand blowing around you will get enough sand with out dragging a rake behind you. Then there is your hair. The wind never stops blowing on the beach so keep that in mind when you try to decide of a hair style. The groom should forget about a tuxedo unless he just wants to burst into flames. An idea that is not too uncommon is to get married in the water. Not in four feet of water, say your vows in enough water to cover your feet. That rules out the traditional wedding dress and the suit but a really cute idea could be conceived. For laughs, make the guests stand in four feet of water!

Whether you choose golf or beach, they both can be well done. It's all about what makes the bride and groom happy. - 30544
